The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the champion in the following the devastating accident.
